First Summit
First Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, demonstrating regional commitment to peace.
Pact Signed
The historic Pact on Security, Stability and Development in the Great Lakes Region is signed in Nairobi, Kenya.
Secretariat Established
ICGLR Secretariat established in Bujumbura, Burundi, to coordinate implementation of the Pact.
9th Summit
The 9th ICGLR Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Kinshasa, DRC, reaffirming commitment to regional peace and security.
